Superintendent Davis reviewed his report with those in attendance. The report will be placed on the Board website. Some highlights of his report included the Lead & Achieve initiative. He also thanked employees in the Financial Division of the Board for their hard work and diligence. Issues of funding with regards to the Auditor General's report was mentioned.

African Heritage Month will be recognized by the Department with a proclamation and ads in the newspapers. He thanked the Board and the Transportation Dept for their hard work and cooperation with regards to the Transportation Audit.

Commissioner Bates congratulated to the Board for its success in having such low numbers of students participating in Home Schooling and for the noted low number of students in our area who are attending private school. Mr. Burton stated that our Board is noted, particularly our Program Department, for exceeding limits in meeting the needs of our students.

Mr. MacEachern, Director of Programs & School Services noted this problem is not only within our Board. A meeting has occurred with the Dept. Of Health and they have been assured that more research will be conducted with regards to this matter.

Mrs. MacLean questioned whether a policy could be developed pertaining to repeaters of head lice. Mr. MacEachern will do some further investigating and get back to Mrs. MacLean.
