Penguin

|
Penguins
are a group of aquatic, flightless birds living
almost exclusively in the Southern Hemisphere. The largest species of
penguin is called the Emperor Penguin which adults average about 3 feet
7 inches tall and weigh 75 pounds or more. The smallest species is the
Little Blue Penguin which stands about 16 inches tall and weighs about
2.2 pounds. Most penguins feed on krill, fish, squid, and other forms
of seafood. They spend half of their life on land ands half in the
ocean. |
Penguins seem
to have no fear of humans. This may be because are no land predators in
Antarctica for the penguins. Instead, penguins are at risk at sea from
predators such as the leopard seal.
