Where is New Waterford

The town of New Waterford is a small coal-mining community on the eastern shore of Cape Breton Island in the province of Nova Scotia, with a population base close to 10,000. We are situated about twelve Km from both the city of Sydney and the town of Glace Bay. New Waterford is famous for being a sports town and our residents provide huge support for all our teams. We have in the past, and will in the future continue to produce atheletes that excel not only in basketball, but in hockey, baseball and soccer. These outstanding players will move on to both national and international competition.
