Mrs. Sheppard/Principal

Glace Bay Elementary School was established in September 1996. It provided a new and improved facility for five older area schools which included: St. Anthony's, Caledonia, Holy Cross, Central, and Brookside schools.

Presently, Glace Bay Elementary School educates 400 students from grades primary to Five. Our school has proven to be a great technological achievement for the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board and the N.S. Dept. of Education with: computers in every classroom, scanners, digital cameras, video capturing equipment, and all classrooms and hallways equipped with TVs and LCD Projectors. The LCD Projectors allow teachers the option to complete their lessons from the computer. The DVD/VCR's are centrally located and streamed to the classrooms via a multimedia system. In addition to the Novell file serve, there is also a CD-ROM server that stores many different types of computer software and computer applications. As a team, we are very proud of our accomplishments and we look forward to growing in all present and future educational endeavors
