Subsitutes: The Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board  values all members of our school community and would like to assist you as you begin your career within the board. There are many resources here that will not only help to inform you of your responsibiltes as an employee of the board but also resources that will help you to do your job more efficiently.

As per our Board's Reference Check Policy, all new employees must compete a Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry form.

  • Current Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector Check): Please contact the Cape Breton Regional Police or local RCMP.  (Most of the Regional Police searches are done through Central Division located at 865 Grand Lake Road Sydney, N.S) Once complete, a copy must be returned to the Human Resource Department 
  • Current Child Abuse Registry: . Once the form is returned to you, a copy must be returned to the Human Resource Department.

AESOP: as a casual/substitute employee you may obtain casual/substitute employment through a program called AESOP.  This access can be on the Internet and/or by phone.
