School Improvement

In September, 2008, Riverview High School was awarded the accreditation designation by the Nova Scotia Department of Education. Riverview was the first school in the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board to receive the designation, which was awarded after five years of hard work on our school improvement plan by students, staff, parents and the entire school community.

School Improvement is an ongoing process and we are now at the end of year one of our second round of school accreditation. Following involvement of all partners in the school community, the goals that have been chosen for school improvement for the next three years are:

1. There will be a 5% overall improvement in areas related to communication within the school community.

2. There will be a 5% overall increase in student scores in practical math knowledge.
