Riverview’s Attendance Policy

In order to help us deal with the increasing number of students skipping classes the policy this year will be as follows:

3 unexcused classes: Teacher calls home
6 unexcused classes: Teacher refers student to administration
9 unexcused classes: Administration meets with the parent/guardian
12 unexcused classes: Detention
2 detentions: Suspension

First contact with the home will come from the teacher. If the teacher is unable to reach the home, a letter will be mailed from the office to the student’s home address.

Any student who does not appear for detention will be automatically suspended.
If a student is not in school for the assigned detention, he/she will go to detention on the day he/she returns to school.

3 lates (in cafeteria): Administration calls home
4 lates: Detention
