BEACHBALL
REVIEW
Author: Julie ??
Use an inflatable (beachball) globe for review.
Procedure:
1) Toss the globe to someone who must tell one thing about whatever
his left thumb touched when he caught the ball.
It can be the country's name, capital, location, continent,
boundaries,.....anything.
2) The student then tosses the ball to someone else.
The rule is that if we get too silly or if the ball
gets out of control it immediately goes away.
TEACHER'S NOTE: I also have a regular beachball that I wrote opened
ended literature statements on....one statement on
each color...
Example:
my favorite part was_________________,
I wish the author had ____________,
the next chapter should _____________,
the theme of the story was _________,
the lesson was ___________, etc.
Again the student who catches the ball must complete whatever
statement his left thumb is on.
My students love this game. I've only had to put the beachball
away once.
