Procedures

1)         The Transportation Department has established an In-service Committee to organize all the in-services for Transportation.

2)         This six person committee is appointed each September.

3)         There are usually 7-8 in-service days a year where bus drivers are paid, so therefore training needs to be provided.

4)         The committee establishes a list of what is required and what has been requested by bus drivers through meetings with them.

5)         A sign-in sheet is provided for each in-service and after the in-service is completed, the type of in-service is recorded on the driver’s file.

6)         Any driver who did not attend, is contacted by letter indicating, if this is a required in-service, i.e., First Aid, that they are now responsible to obtain the course on their own time at there own expense unless he/she provides a doctor’s slip for being absent.
