Scope              

This policy applies to the installation of hardware or software within the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board.

 

Purpose                       

The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all hardware or software installation is carried out by designated  and qualified personnel.

 

Policy Statement         

It is the policy of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board that hardware and software installation, including communication medium and termination, is the sole responsibility of Board technology staff.  All hardware and software shall go through appropriate testing before that installation takes place.  Only licensed software may be installed on all systems within the Board.

Authorization              

This policy has been authorized by the Board under motions number

 

Responsibility              

It is the responsibility of the Director of Operational Services of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board to ensure that this policy and administrative procedures are implemented.

 

Implementation                      

The Manager of Energy Management Services/Technology will implement the policy and administrative procedures.

 

Procedures                  

  1. The installation of hardware and software shall be the sole responsibility of the technology staff of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School.

  2. All hardware and software to be installed shall comply with baseline infrastructure and licensing requirements as determined through the testing carried out by the Operational Services department of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board.
