Scope
This policy is intended for all schools within the jurisdiction of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board.
Purpose
To ensure the proper utilization of web sites as a communication tool.
Policy Statement
It is the policy of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board that all schools within the Board will create and maintain a school web site.

Authorization
This policy has been authorized by the Board under motions number
Responsibility
It is the responsibility of the Director of Programs and Student Services to ensure that this policy and administrative procedures are implemented.
Implementation
The Coordinator of Program Services (Instructional Support).
Procedures
1. Each school will be assigned space on the Board server to post a web site.
2. Each school will be assigned a user name and password by the Board’s data manager to access the school site.
3. Each principal will select a school contact person who will be responsible for maintaining the site and keeping it current.
4. The principal will ensure that all content on the school web site adheres to the Board’s Internet Access and Network User policy and the provincial Acceptable Use Policy
