Use of School Board Supplies, Materials and Equipment: FIN 119

This policy covers all supplies, materials and equipment in all Board locations.
To establish uniform guidelines for the use of Board supplies, materials and equipment and denote accountability for their consumption or use.
It is the policy of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board that School Board supplies, materials and equipment are for the exclusive use of the Board in providing educational programs and attendant support services. In cases where equipment and materials must be taken from the site by employees for the provision of educational or support services it is the responsibility of the supervisor of the particular site who is customarily responsible for the use of such supplies, materials and equipment to authorize such use. Equipment taken from School Board premises for temporary storage and safekeeping must be documented on a capital inventory transfer form. The supervisor is required to exercise proper judgement in the execution of his/her duties and report any loss or damages to his/her immediate supervisor.
This policy has been authorized by the Board under motions number.......
The respective director who customarily has responsibility for the use of supplies, materials and equipment is responsible for the implementation of this policy.
Use of School Facilities Policy
It is the responsibility of the Director of Finance to review within three years of authorization date.
