 RE:              POSTING INFORMATION

 

Please note the following information:

 

  • Specialist positions, positions North of Smokey, and general interview postings for French will be advertised on the CBVRSB website from June 24th until June 29th, 2016. 

 

  • If necessary, additional postings available for summer hires will be advertised on July 6th and on Fridays throughout the summer.

 

  • Applications will be completed through the Teacher Vacancy website.

 

  • Please ensure that your qualifications and contact information is up to date in the Teacher Vacancy Database.

 

  • Please note that the above information does not apply to teachers who have recall status.  See the Memo to All Recall Teachers, dated June 16th 2016, for information regarding this process.   All positions will be available to recall teachers before being filled by substitute teachers.  This memo is available on the CBVRSB website.

Please note the following information:

  • The list of Recall teachers is now posted in the Teacher Vacancy Website.
  • A Specialty Recall Positions list will be posted on Thursday June 16th for only Music, School Psychology, and Speech Language Pathology positions.  This list will close Monday, June 20, 2016 at noon. 
  • The remaining available positions will be posted in the Teacher Vacancy Website on Thursday, June 30, 2016 and will close on July 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.  Please rank positions according to preference.
  • Recall teachers are required to update qualifications and phone numbers.
  • Recall teachers will be notified by phone as to the position the Board is recalling them to.  This will be done between July 6, 2016 and July 12, 2016. 
  • Teachers who have obtained recall status because of specialty positions will be recalled to specialty positions.  For example, if you achieved recall as a result of Student Services, you will be recalled to Student Services positions if available.
  • If you refuse the position when contacted, the Board’s obligation for recall has been met.
  • Recall teachers placed in percentage positions may be considered for higher percentage positions, should they become available.
  • Please be aware of Article 11.03 (vi) B (i), (ii) which refers to positions accepted North of Smokey.

Professional Development Session for Substitute Teachers

There will be a professional development session for substitute teachers on Thursday, June 25th at the Northside Staff Development Centre pertaining to the P-3 initiatives.  The session will start at 3 pm. Interested substitute teachers should contact Marjorie Bursey, ELA Consultant at mbursey@cbvrsb.ca to confirm their attendance as space is limited.
