Mr. George Boudreau, Director of Operational Services read correspondence which was addressed to the Superintendent of Schools regarding staffing for the 2008-2009 school year at MacDonald Elementary.

Ms. Kim Gilmet, a parent, spoke with regards to her concerns over her child attending MacDonald elementary in September, 2009. She noted that there are twenty-eight students registered to attend the school in the fall. She expressed, on behalf of the committee, the disappointment over a multi-grade classroom being initiated for September. It was the opinion of the committee that the curriculum outcomes would not be met. She also addressed the issue of students being bussed to physical education which she feels causes a loss in contact time.

Councillor Darren Bruckschwaiger spoke with regards to a lack of facilities for physical education and with regards to multi-grading being put in place at MacDonald Elementary in September, 2008. He recognized the change in age for primary students attending school for the first time and the importance of a good foundation for these students.
