S.A.P. daily tasks

Since October we closed 756 routine work orders. Requests such as telecommunications closets cleaning and upgrade in Shipyard, St. Mike′s Jr. High. We also installed a new file server in Sydney Adult and replaced the file server in St. Mike′s Jr. High.

Internet Connectivity

Eastlink internet installs are ongoing. We have only two schools left to change over to the Eastlink fiber optics circuit.

Computers for Schools

Since June, the Technology Department and Computers for Schools installed over 36 computers, 11 network laser printers and one scanner in our School Board. We delivered 18 computers and two printers within the community for charitable donations.

I.E.I.

We have almost completed the second rollout of software installs on the 100 I.E.I. computers in the grade 11 classrooms.

P-12 Refresh

During the month of October we installed, configured and delivered 38 computer systems and eight multimedia projectors.

Transportation

November, 2008

Runs continue to be reviewed for efficiency.

On October 24, 2008, all bus drivers and bus aids received an update on First Aid and CPR.

We have been working on an anti-idling plan and have started a promotion program that will see two schools as a pilot.

On November 18, we visited the schools North of Smokey to review and make some changes in bus routes.

Mechanics had a day of in-servicing October 28 covering computerized diagnostics on engines and transmissions.

We joined with a group from Strait Regional School Board at Riverview High Computer Room.
