Board Chair Lorne Green distributed correspondence he received during his recent meeting of the Board Chairs. He noted comments that were made by the leader of the NDP party, Mr. Darrell Dexter before he became premier.

Board Chair, Commissioner Green, noted the tone of the meeting he recently attended and the frustration expressed by other Boards across the province.

Disappointment was expressed over the political tones of the request made to Board’s to halt the School Review process.

It was noted by the Board Chair that each Board will be making their own decisions and these decisions may not be unified across the province.

Mr. White, Superintendent of Schools, noted a conference call occurred with all the Superintendents this afternoon and it was noted that the Board’s were all expressing their concerns and some Board’s are still angry. He further noted that there is no easy answer to the Minister’s request.

Commissioner Margettie noted that she will welcome a change in the process over the next year however she is not convinced that the Department of Education will follow through on their statement to create change in the review process.
